This course provides a comprehensive introduction to Smart City Development, exploring how cities can become smarter, more sustainable, and more resilient through the integration of digital technologies, governance, people, processes, and infrastructure.
Participants will examine the concept of the city as a complex system of systems and explore the key dimensions of smart city development, including digital transformation, sustainability, governance, citizen engagement, urban innovation, data-driven decision-making, and emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), Digital Twins, and Smart Infrastructure.
The basic (one-day course): covers necessity of urban innovation, the status of Smart City Development (SCD) in the world, conceptualisation of smart city using LEGO Serious Play (LSP), Requirements of SCD using LSP, city systems integration.
